Meet the New Boss … Medium-Format Photography

Sometimes you just can’t beat the convenience of a 35mm DSLR camera – they’re rugged, affordable, you can switch out a lens pretty quick, shoot around 7-frames per second and there’s loads of buttons to press too. You can even crank up the ISO into the hundreds of thousands so that you can shoot a black kitten next to a candle at night is a dingy room. This is all great and suitable for most general photography but when it comes to “cutting the mustard” so to speak, we really cannot beat the look and feel of the final image from a medium-format camera.

Opposed to the 35mm frame of an SLR, a medium-format camera has a native image of 50mm x 50mm producing a far superior photograph in terms of depth and quality, in addition to color and tone management and contrast mostly due to the German made high-performance lenses. A subject in a medium-format image literally pops out of the photo allowing the viewer an almost 3-dimensional experience.

We welcome one of Hasselblad’s finest film-digital hybrid medium-format cameras to our stable of exceptional cameras so that we can produce exceptional images for our exceptional clients!
